Bucket list ✅ Tucson Gem Show!!

Here are a few things that made me go WOW!

I've been thinking a lot about Bucket Lists. You know...like the movie with Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman. SO I made one, a genuine one, with a few realistic items and a few wild reaching goals. While I probably won't be riding an elephant this year, I was able to cross this one off my list.... I attended the Tucson Gem Show!

While I've been to quite a few gem shows in my life, the Tucson Gem Show was definitely an event I wanted to experience first hand. For those of you that don’t know about this magical Winter Event, the "Tucson Gem Show" consists of nearly 50 shows sprawled throughout the City. Exhibitors come from all around the world to showcase and sell their goods. It’s a Mecca of unique museum-quality exhibits, gemstones, specimens and minerals. The shows range from super fine high end precious gems to the world's largest meteorite or a five-foot-tall geode.

Where do you begin when arriving in Tucson for the gem show?

There are so many options, from wholesale only shows, public ones. I began at the GJX Show and AGTA GemFair- the top tier of gem shows. Next was the G&LW Tucson Gem Show and Holidome Show at the GemHall & Galleria. Then the 22nd Street Mineral, Fossil, Gem & Jewelry Show. Last but definitely not least, is the Kino Gem & Mineral Show, where you can see life size geodes.

There’s so many more options too! Let me know what your favorite gem show is in Tucson and I’ll add it to the list. :)

(top left) New and gorgeous rose cut diamonds.

(top right) Tanzanite gems - already have ideas swirling for these… maybe in rose gold. ;)

(bottom photo) Ruby zoisite, tourmiated quartz, Australian opal, lapis, aquamarine…Ooh La La!

Time to get busy creating!!!

I’m always available to discuss custom designs as well. Besides these fabulous new gems I just found, I’m gem obsessed and have a LOT of inventory of loose stones.

Another bonus of me going to Tucson this year was that my very first and dearest friend from childhood moved to Phoenix AZ with her family about 6 months ago. Getting to see her new world and sharing what I love with her made this experience that much more special to me.
